BACKING FOR MP’S NATIONAL ONLINE DISCUSSION HUB

Andrew Miller, MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston, has welcomed a new online discussion hub - www.socialbreakfast.org - which will help politicians to engage with young people.

Young people can upload street art, ‘slam’ poetry, blogs, music and other media to express their views about the issues that matter to them.  MPs are now being urged to get involved in the online discussions to reach out to 14 to 30-year-olds.

Andrew Miller said:

"Social Breakfast is going to offer a space for young people to raise the issues they want to talk about and politicians the opportunity to not just listen but to engage too.  This unique forum will ensure that what’s on the table is what young people themselves think is important - not what we politicians think young people care about.  This will be an important tool to help policy makers gauge the opinions of youngsters on a wide variety of topics.

“This is an initiative that has started in the West Midlands and it is hoped that it will rapidly expand to the North West.”
