ELLESMERE PORT’S ‘INTERNATIONAL’ SWIMMING GALA
Local MP Andrew Miller was delighted to support the town’s top young swimmers as they challenged their contemporaries from Reutlingen at a recent swimming gala.
The event, held at the EPIC on the 2nd August, was the tenth visit of the Reutlingen swimmers to the town and the latest in a long line of events celebrating the historic friendship between the two towns.
Following the event, Andrew Miller said:
“Our young swimmers really are a credit to the town and it was great to see a friendly contest against our friends from Reutlingen”
He added:
“Our relationship with Reutlingen has provided a wealth of opportunities to the young people of Ellesmere Port, as well as bringing benefits to the local economy.”
“It is events like this that town twinning is all about and I want to see a strengthening of sporting, cultural and economic ties between the communities, so I am calling on the Council to support the continuation of these historic ties”
